Barry,
Have you thought about making a water-born primer or a non ISO primer? _________________

Yes but no!
AKA as bare metal primer, non-ISO.
Or waterborne.
The non iso's are just plain crap, the ONLY good thing about them is they sand like lacquer primer.(1+1=????)
Waterborne primer most painters would rather whip me for making it, then use it.
No way, until forced too. _________________

glad someone brought this up. i have 5gal of waterborne adhesion promotor. Dupont 634-2591
Is it worth a crap? Ive had it forever seems like.
What would it be good for? Im gonna do the shutters on my house in SPI pure white, and i thought about using this adpro on the shutters.
The shutters look to be abs. But not sure.
I do shoot lots of plastic items also. Large scale remote control cars and stuff. _________________ Good Paint Jobs Arent Cheap. Cheap Paint Jobs Arent Good. |

A waterborne adhesion promoter??
Never herd of such a thing if I had to guess waterborne would be better than solvent in this case?? _________________

you know i was just thinking about this. funny this was just posted. there are these newer dtm primers out that are a mix of epoxy and urethane. hok has one and rm has the powerfill primer. granted this is probably nowhere near as good as regular epoxy with a 2k on top but for production shops i think this would be great as a one shot deal. haven't used the hok but i have used the powerfill and the adhesion to bare metal is fantastic and it sandable in 30 min or less. i would imagine bodyshops would eat that kind of thing up. _________________ my gallery (all spi):

Horsepower from 101 was telling me about one of those mixes earlier this year Jim that he was using from Dupont.. he seemed to like it allot.. He did say if it set for a few days it was like sanding concrete?? but for application and then to sand shortly after, he really liked it _________________ King Of Bondo
