Hi,
I noticed that is was mentioned earlier that a jobber list on the web site was not possible because certain jobbers carry various lines and it could effect their discount, etc. How would a jobber list on the forum be? Maybe they could each make they own entry, depending if they wanted to be listed or not. Maybe a notice stating that this isn't a complete list and if there's not a jobber in your area how to find one.

The reason for this idea is that I was going to order my stuff from Baker, By chance I posted my info on the "introduce yourself" page and got a note from John (crazycuda) in Raleigh. After chatting back and forth a bit I found John was a jobber in my area. Now I have a local source for SPI products. I'd rather get it locally than order it, plus it helps the jobber move more product.

Anyhow, it just a thought.
Mike

Baker or Barry will tell you who the local jobber is..As far as it goes I can say that I am one in the State of Washington because all the materials I carry come from Baker or SPI..

I think it is good to have a local jobber to deal with as we do a lot more than just take orders for paint..Dunno how the other guys do it but I personally visit my customers to see what they need and help them with whatever I can..

This does include to hobby guys as I like to see what is actually going on in the shops..

Sam

Hi Sam,
Sounds like you really take good care of your customers. I'm glad I found a jobber locally. It sure is nice to be able to get the paint and supplies I need easily and hopefully a get a little advise I if I need it too.

We have a pretty good check and balance with the jobber locations.
Off the web site I will get 15-30 inquirers a day looking for a local jobber
When they state their town I can usually answer but some don't and if I'm not going to be on for rest of day will give the 800 number and Baker has a map at each desk. We don't miss many as far as sending to a jobber maybe one or two a year we screw up so that is pretty good percentage.
