Barry sells a good quality lacquer primer that you can use for guide coats... I have found this the only way to do things if you are guide coating a whole car.. and the fact that it is cheap and can be mixed with regular urethane reducer keeps it simple... no other products to keep up with.. A gallon of this will go a very long way for guide coats.. There is not any other use I have for it... It is not suitable for a surfacer in todays market... Urethane is the only way to go for your primer surfacer!!!!
#6000-1 Lacquer Primer Gray - Gallon
$36.52
#6000-4 Lacquer Primer - Quart
$11.34
SPI lacquer primer is to be thinned 100-150% with SPI'S 860 or 870 urethane reducer. _________________ King Of Bondo

you can, I have both grey and red lacquer..however if he only had the grey, tinting it will keep from having to buy more primer _________________ King Of Bondo

UPOL makes an aerosol dry guide coat that works like the 3M but is a lot easier to use. |

I just use left over paint for a guide coat. There is alwas a little left and that gets rid of it.
